September Letters to the Editor

Editor: I notice several times in your paper, you use the word addiction. Please note it is more proper and preferable to say a person with a substance use disorder. Ted

Ted: Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We will be more sensitive to the matter in the future, Be advised though, that we cannot alter a writers piece without his or her ok and might cause them a rewrite.

Editor: I have been staying at the Providence Rescue Mission. Every morning they kick us out at 6 am even if it is raining. It stinks Why do they do that?. Signed, Sleepless

Sleepless: We are not sure why shelters have that policy, It might be a good topic for one of our reporters to explore.

Dear editor: I keep seeing those orange parking meters that are supposed to collect money to help us homeless. Where does the money go? Just askin

Just askin: A mystery. Perhaps our investigative reporter can dive into that question again. In theory, the secret amount of money collected is to be dispersed to homeless agencies. Let’s hope that not a penny goes to the money- rich Crossroads RI!
